ENGLISH TEACHING OPPORTUNITY

The Foreign Language Training Center at Korea National University of Education (located in the vicinity of Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, Korea) is looking for a few skilled native English language instructors for our Intensive English Teacher Training Program.

1. Purpose of Training Program
1) To improve Korean English teachers' communicative competence.
2) To practice their instructional skills of Teaching-English-Through-English (TETE).

2. Brief Description of Training Program
1) This Intensive Program is sponsored from Korea Government, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development. This program has been and will have been improving English Education and English Teachers?communications skills in Korea.
2) This program started at Sept 2005 and will continue in the future.
3) One year program has two terms. One term lasts for six months (Domestic program 5 months and overseas program for 1 month).
4) One class is composed of almost 10 trainees.
5) All trainees are school English teachers recommended by each provincial Education Board..

4. Eligibility and Remuneration

1) Qualification
Minimum 4 year teaching experience required with the possession of one of the following;
(1) MA in TESOL or English, English Literature and Linguistics
(2) Teacher's Certificate for English teaching

2) Remuneration
(1) Monthly base salary of 2.6 million Korean Won based on 18hrs of instruction per week
(2) Overtime pay of 25,000 Korean Won/1hr of instruction (overtime will be 6 to 8 hrs per week)

(2) Teacher's Certificate for English teaching

- BA in English, English Literature and Linguistics with minimum 3 years teaching experience
- BA with minimum 5 years teaching English experience

2) Remuneration
(1) Monthly base salary of 2.4 million Korean Won based on 18hrs of instruction per week
(2) Overtime pay of 25,000 Korean Won/1hr of instruction (overtime will be 6 to 8 hrs per week)

1) One way airfare to Korea will be reimbursed upon arrival based on economic class. Return airfare will be reimbursed upon completion of contract.
2) Half of the health insurance and pension will be provided.
3) Accommodation will be provided.
4) The completion of 1 year contract will be entitled to receive severance pay.
5) 6 week paid-vacation (3 weeks in summer and 3 weeks in winter) during the trainees?overseas training period.
