Salary Range & Teaching Courses:
The full-time teacher’s salary starts at USD 1,600 - 2000 per month according to the qualifications and teaching experiences. A full time teacher has fixed office hours: 8:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. A full time teacher will teach 19 - 21 periods per week. A period is defined as 40 minutes. We need teachers to teach English, History, Geography, Biology, Computer science, Economics, Music and Art. The following benefits will also be given to the full-time teachers:
Benefits Offered:
-Holiday: During Chinese legal holidays, school holidays, and Christmas holidays full-time teachers are entitled to rest with full pay according to the number of classes listed on the schedule. (Summer vacation is not included.) The official national holidays are subject to Shanghai Municipal Government's notification.

-Housing and Utilities: The school supplies the full-time expatriate teacher with a room with heat and cool air conditioning, a fully equipped private bathroom and kitchen, TV set with satellite, direct phone line and the Internet plug. The school pays all the bills except phone bills

-Medical Insurance: The school buys an AIA medical insurance for emergency medical situation and hospitalizing. If a full time teacher has medical treatment at the clinic on Campus, the Shanghai High School will pay all the charges. If he/she goes to a clinic off-campus, school pays 50% of the cost.

-Bonus : A Yearly Bonus up to 3200USD at the end of School Year.

Selection Criteria

1. Education background: teacher who possess a minimum bachelor degree with a strong academic subject background such as English literature, English, History, Biology, Psychology, Philosophy etc
2. Credentials: a) teacher who is certified to teach in the relevant subject area. b) teacher who has a teaching certificate as teaching English as a second language such as TESL, TEFOL, Cambridge CELTA. c) teacher who has a IELTS examiner certificate
3. Working experience & ability: Teachers who have a minimum 2 years teaching experience in an accredited school. Teacher who demonstrates successful teaching experience and has the knowledge of content, curriculum and keen understanding of the needs of students
4. Attitude: a) teacher who has the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
b) teacher who is willing to take up the challenge with passion and commitment and not be afraid of hard work c) teacher who supports the SHSID mission statement and development of the school and being culturally receptive
